Curly Hair Tutorial

Hi Everyone :)

I thought it was about time I wrote a Tutorial. As some Peeps had been asking about how I coloured Curly Hair, it seemed I was halfway there!

So, Curly Hair…

It’s all about squiggles! I lay down the colour in little ‘c’ shapes, and sometimes wiggly worms. (Guess who has a five year old in the house?!)

one

I’ve used E71 to mark out the main hair area

two

Next, more little ‘c’s in E74

three

With E77, I start to think about where I want the darker areas of the head to be. You’ll notice I don’t cover all of the E71 and E74

four

I do the same with E79, working on the darker areas, but not covering all of the E77. I forgot to take a picture before I started on with my next layer, so you’ll see a little of that too

five

Finally, I am using E49, in the really dark areas and in a few places to define a few curls

six

That just left the bows and making a card for Penelope to live on…

This is pretty cool and the effect is wonderful! I even like how the card turned out especially with the doodling. :)

I never get to visit blogs much anymore but do try to at least keep touch with you thru fb. Love your tutorials, you know how much I admire your coloring and glad you felt generous to share. That’s it, being nice today! Don’t expect it often though!
