I made this door hanger for work. The department I work in has an employee recognition program called ‘You Rock’ so I thought the Rocker Chick image would be perfect for this.

I took a piece of chipboard 6 x 12 and layered it with several pieces of coordinating paper. I created a pocket to hold the recognition slips and cut We Rock using my Silhouette Cameo. It is a simple, quick project that could be used for many things.

Hello everyone! It’s Delphine here to share some more inspiration with one of the Cute Colour Girls that I just love! They are really fun to colour, with minimal detail perfect to practise colouring! Today I have chosen to make a card with Mariah, simple as always…
 

I coloured Mariah with Distress Markers to give a watercolour look just like my Prima DPs. I cut my image with a Nestabilities Label 8 die and added a gorgeous Flower Swirl Frame. I coloured my frame with iridescent acrylic paint (sorry, the photo does not show well) using the same shades as my image and papers and added two pieces of ribbon, one piece of lace and 2 pearls.

Hi everyone it is Bron here today to show you a boys birthday cad I have created using mainly the different urban elements collections and  racing Rick.

I don’t know about you but I really struggle making cards for boys, I don’t know if it is because you just cant go adding lots of pretty embellishments? Anyhow I have always been a big fan of the Urban Elements so I thought it was about time I used them and challenged myself  and this is what I came up with….

I let all the elements be the “feature” of the card….Racing Rick has been foam mounted and so has the car so they pop from the page. I have to say I had so much fun making this card and just loved that Racing Rick reminded me of my son with his hair in his eyes!

I used a piece of designer paper I had cutting out the letters to create my sentiment. Added a bit of distressing and faux stitching and whola I had a boys card!

I would normally list the copics I have used but I used so many the list would just be huge!

Hello everyone, sorry I’ve been a bit missing in action lately, but I’m back with a post for you that I hope inspires you to try merging images if you haven’t already tried it.  I’ve created this picture on one sheet of A4 Make it Colour Blending card (fabulous stuff!)

This was my very first attempt at merging images using Paint Net.  I know I’ve shown a few of my merged pieces since then, but I thought I’d show you this one to show that while it is far from perfect, it’s still pretty good for a first attempt and I’ve found as I have practiced and gained experience then you can too! 

 I used Far Away Castle; Enchanted Unicorn and Exquisite Princess

Let me tell you it was at first quite daunting, this was the first time I’d tried merging images and then of course there was all that colouring ahead of me.  What I did though was work on it in sections, that broke the whole project down into more manageable pieces.

Check out the tutorial section here and also ask questions in the MIC facebook page for advice from the DT, Youtube also has some amazing tutorials.  All you need to do is try and you too can create beautiful pictures and artwork using MiC digi stamps and colouring them with your favourite media weather that be Copic or other alcohol markers, distress inks or pencils.

Paisley Wings & Crafty Things

Today I would like to show you the shadow box frame that I put together. I love these chipboard kits as they give me the opportunity to explore a creative side that is sometimes hidden.

I used a the new distress paint to paint the chipboard black. For the background I used glitter and applied it while the distress paint was still wet. It didn’t turn out the way I had imagined but it looks good. Of course, the photograph doesn’t show the true beauty …. need lots of practice there

This is a side profile of the butterflies. I took green floral wire and colored it black and then glued it to the background so the butterflies are of differing heights. It is hard to see this in the photograph.

For the sentiment, I took different colors of the distress paint and daubed them on the stamp and then stamped. I like the variety of colors throughout the sentiment.

 This is Barbara and I wanted to mix things up a little with a bit of mid-year spooky inspiration!  I wanted to quickly share a project I made a while back using Batty Baxter from Make it Crafty plus the Ornate Corners chipboard which I’ve colored black.  I colored and created this last fall so I’m not sure what all my motivation was.  I think I was experimenting with black and red blending on the wings but that’s about all I can remember.

For those keeping track, it’s been an interesting couple of days but I’ve finally received my test scores for my grade and I’m excited to report that I’ve passed all my classes this semester!!  It was a relief for me that the passing point was much lower than I ever expected but I’m not going to argue with that!  LOL   So after I figure out a few things and organize myself, that means I can finally set back into a routine.  Ahhh, that will feel nice!

Hello, everyone! Aeryn here with a little gift for my mother on Mother’s Day. What can I say, I don’t do anything “simple” or “timely”. I don’t know why, I just plain don’t. Therefore it’s now nearly 4pm before I was able to present this to her, lol! But she’s my mom and she’s got to like it, it’s a rule, yeah? I tell you, I had a heck of a fun time colouring this, and trying out the whole “word clouds” thing. I mean, how neat is that “love” in the sky? Very fun, definitely doing it again. This card is a full 5×7 image so maybe Mom will frame it or something, that’d be cool. Anyway, I hope you like it, and if you’re a mom I hope you had a great Mother’s Day and your kids made you something awesome!

 I wanted to share a project I colored this week using the new adorable images from Make it Crafty… specifically the little girl Annie!    These new little girls are great color and you can go simple or complex and they’ll turn out great either way!  I went for complex and tried out a few things on this one.  First of all, I merged it with the Sitting Flowers background which matches the detailed style of this image perfectly – not too detailed, not too simple.  At my house we’ve been watching the film Arrietty repeatedly so that was my inspiration for the sizing of the images.  But hay, it’s better than watching a Disney musical over and over and over and …. so I’m not really complaining.   LOL

For part of the clothes I tried to go for a pin striping look but as you can see my hands were a little shaky and heavy so the stripes are a little more bold than I had originally planned.  However, they match the paper I was using so it all works out.  The other section I had fun with was her hair! It’s been a long while since I’ve colored bright hair so that was a lot of fun.    Then I added white streaks just for good measure.

 The card was simple to put together and I was even able to use a paper pad that was almost all gone – it always feels good to use up ALL the paper!  I only have 2 sheets left so we’ll see if I make it all the way.  Corner chipboard was added in the colors and I liked the raw looks so I didn’t need to do anything there.  Then I had these spectacles rub-on sheets on my desk so I decided to use that too.  And it also helps with the illusion that this girl is a little person so that was a bonus.

The new images from Make It Crafty are just adorable and are designed to help you practice your colouring skills.  We each got to colour one up for this picture aswell!  I coloured the super cute Mia and you will see a project with her shortly but first off I want to show you what I did with Catrina.  

I merged her with the Tulip Garden to create a little scene.  After colouring her up I asked the girls what they thought I should do for the sky, Zoe suggested I follow the brilliant cloud tutorial by Barbara.  Its so easy to follow!!  I think I need a bit more practice but my B00 and B000 decided to run out as I was doing this…..  yeap 2 more things added to my must have list again!!! 

The papers I used are from Kaisercraft and are called Botanical Odyssey…. one of my favourite paper pads at the moment!

She was a dream to colour and I have a feeling she will be seen alot on this blog!!
