Haunted House

Haunted House

Hi everyone! It’s Alyce here and today I have a different card to share with you. As most of you know…usually I stick with colouring people so this was a huge challenge for me so please be gentle! :) I coloured up the spooky Haunted House and used some of the brand new Halloween chippies in the store! The biggest challenge for me was tackling the night sky…I even popped by the MIC Clubhouse for inspiration. Have you seen it yet? Lots of fun tips, tutorials, and inspiration for you all! :D

I’m still not quite sure if I am happy with the outcome but I am glad I tackled something out of my comfort zone! To do the night sky, I first looked at a picture on google to see where the darkest parts of the image should be. Lucky I did as I didn’t realise the sky is lightest at the horizon ;) From there, I just layed down my colour from lightest to darkest and back again to blend. I then went over the whole thing again and again with my blender pen to really soften the look. I wanted the house to stand out so I wanted the sky to have a ‘washed’ look. It still looks kind of streaky but I kind of like it as it looks like a cloudy night ;)

Here are the copic colours that I used to create the scene:

Grey/Dress: W0, W1, W3, W5, W7
Orange: Y20, YR61, YR68, YR02, YR07
Blue: BG72, B97, B99
Yellow/Moon: Y11, Y15, Y17, E31, E33
Tree: E31, E33, E35, E37, E49
Sky: C0, C1, C3, C5, C7, BG72(I think! Sorry I can’t quite remember the blue that I used over the top :) , Blender

Thanks for stopping by and I hope I have inspired you to try something new! :)
