Every year, i promise myself to start to create Christmas cards earlier, but unfailingly i’m late with them!
It can be because i start too late, yes, but also maybe because every year i’d like to create a few more…:)
Lovely Zoe gave us lots of amazing Christmas images to play with this year, and for this post i’ve chosen one of my favourites that also gave me the chance to face one of our colouring challenges: colouring hair with fine details.
Colouring this lovely Christmas fairy has been a pleasure, especially the dress, with all that folds!
Brown is my favourite colour for the hair and i generally use the feathering technique because it gives to the hair a more realistic look, like the hair has strands.
I’ve two favourites brown color combos: one a little darker and one a little more light; i’ve used the second one this time, that is what i call the “Alyce’s colour combo”, because i learned it from her! The copics i’ve used are E21 -E25-E29, they go very well together.
When i colour the hair, i try to be very light handed and to flick my brush away to create the effect that hair has lot of strands.
I really hope to have inspired you a little and for more infos about colouring hair, you can have a look to Zoe’s coloring tutorials, they are very good especially as regards the hair colouring.
Just below you can see the list of copics i’ve used 🙂
